Lost Jewels Records, black vinyl, ltd. edition of 200
Hailing from California, ZUR GABRIEL were one of those incredibly talented underground American bands that somehow managed to remain a well-kept secret despite possessing all the ingredients of a great ’80s metal act: powerful songwriting, outstanding musicianship, memorable guitar work and a sound deeply rooted in the golden age of American heavy metal. I am extremely proud to bring their music back to life with the first-ever vinyl edition of their complete 1985 and 1986 demos, presenting the two recordings together for the first time on LP. And honestly, this is one of the vinyl reissues I have been most excited about releasing. The ZUR GABRIEL sound is a fantastic blend of classic American heavy metal with soaring guitar work and an unmistakable ’80s atmosphere. Fans of RIOT, RAINBOW and YNGWIE J. MALMSTEEN will immediately understand what makes this band so special, but ZUR GABRIEL had their own identity and a songwriting style that deserved a much wider audience. There is also something particularly special about ZUR GABRIEL: this was a Christian metal band, delivering their powerful music with faith at the heart of their message while never sacrificing the intensity, musicianship or spirit of classic heavy metal. The response to the previous CD edition was overwhelming, with copies selling out shortly after its release. That demand made one thing absolutely clear: the story of ZUR GABRIEL was far from finished.
